Description: “Women’s Prison Massacre” opens with Emanuelle (played by exotic beauty Laura Gemser) staging a conceptual theater piece with two fellow prisoners exposing the psychological pain of females behind bars. Prison bully Albina interrupts the performance–apparently there is a limited audience for feminist stage plays in prison–and a catfight ensues. It comes to light that Emanuelle has been wrongfully imprisoned because she threatened to publish an article exposing a District Attorney of his involvement in drug dealing. Emanuelle is reprimanded by the prison warden for her upstart ways and comes to learn that Albina is in cahoots with the prison management, serving as an informant-slash-enforcer. Water torture is very popular at this particular prison, along with the expected girl-on-girl wrestling.
The movie continues on the typical trajectory until about twenty minutes in, when a group of four male convicts is brought to the prison as a stop-over on their way to death row. It only takes a couple of dumb choices on the part of the prison warden and the sheriff for the inmates to take hostages and attempt their escape. Note to all wardens: DON’T unlock the handcuffs of the four crazed death-row killers. Just don’t. Better safe than sorry, you know? But yes–back to the escape attempt. Rather than make a run for it, the convicts decide to take advantage of the fact that they are locked in a women’s prison and set to raping (as you do). The convicts are absolute caricatures–they spend the majority of their screen time mugging and cackling and generally carrying on. Pierangelo Pozzato’s character “Blade” is particularly ridiculous–his performance elevates (plunges?) the film into surreal black comedy. These guys are more like vaudeville stooges than seasoned criminals! A litany of violent acts ensues–we’re treated to razor slashings, Russian Roulette, and good old-fashioned bitch-slappings as the story ramps up to its finale.
This is a very, very nasty movie, even for the WiP genre–most of its just-over-80-minute run time is taken up with violent, misanthropic action. There’s not a lot of talking, and what dialog exists mainly consists of cursing, snarling and ridiculous proclamations. By no means a good film, and in no way an artistic, well-crafted film, “Women’s Prison Massacre” is still undoubtedly a fine example of the filth the right kind of demented mind can produce

Meet Julie. In Heritage Video’s very first naturist feature film, “Educating Julie”, Julie goes from a shy college student to a fully participating nudist, first in England, then on to Cap D’agde, a complete nudist town in France, and finally to a classy resort in Florida. Produced in 1984, this fun-filled story of a first-time nudist is now considered a collector’s item. “A true classic” and a great bargain!

“Educating Julie,” the world’s first naturist full feature film . Julie, a student assigned to write a report on English nudists, is initially teased by her classmates about the subject. However, on her first visit, Julie finds she fits right in. Not so her cocky boyfriend, who drops out of the project in embarrassment. Julie then discovers the nudist city in France and another in Florida. She’s not shy anymore.

Description: The Professor of Sex Ed is a real sexagenarian. (For you deviates out there, this just means he’s sixty years old.) The silver-haired, bespectacled old codger invites five or six students over to his house for a special class involving “live demonstrations.” What follows is pure, unrepeatable, mad, wonderful, ’70s magic!

“What I planned to get into tonight, was a discussion of the clitoris,” the prof announces over coffee and cookies, and then asks for a student volunteer. This whole business is carried on with such utter earnestness by everyone involved that the movie goes over the top by the back door, as it were.

When the students retire to various rooms in the house with “assignments,” they maintain the same mood of educational seriousness, which works to Heighten the erotic quality of their sexual homework. The students read passages from The Sex Book and then y what they’ve read hands-on. In the background throughout, some sort of Hopi flute-rattle-drum music plays softly, adding to the atmosphere of high endeavor.

“External genital organs,” one cute co-ed writes in her notebook, then turns to her classmate with, “You think I should put ‘cunt’ so he knows what I’m talking about?” The classmate thinks about it a moment and says, “Yeah,” as if it was indeed a good idea. In another room, a hippie chick blows her classmate while he very effectively reads Shakespeare aloud to her!

The Deviate was delirious! He’s never seen anything quite like this before! All the girl students have that fresh frosh look, and mirabile dictu their enjoyment of the sexual activities they methodically engage in appears to be natural and real.

An unbelievable Turn-On and a Collector’s Item if there ever was one!

Description: Annie Sprinkle just seems so damned ecstatic to be Annie Sprinkle and she’ll bubble all over the place showing off her joy. Annie Sprinkle’s Herstory of Porn: Reel to Real is a filmed version of her stage show of the same name, a Sprinkle-hosted examination/autobiography of her life in pornography. Sprinkle sits in front of the screen playing clips from her films, commenting on them MST3K-style, and changing outfits with the appropriate eras. It’s a bit like a Mark Rappaport film, but with less pathos and more penetration.

Sprinkle’s story begins in 1973 when she was a popcorn girl at a porn theater playing Deep Throat. She soon hooked up with director Gerard Damiano, with whom she worked on several occasions (including Let My Puppets Come, which isn’t mentioned.) Clips from several movies are shown, though we only get titles for a few.

As the film progresses, we get to see a wide variety of Sprinkle’s exploits. See her shove a toothbrush up her anus (“I think it’s hot,” she comments.), screwing a midget, taking in a kielbasa sausage (“It really felt good, and we fed the entire cast for lunch!”), getting fisted (“We’re using Crisco as lubricant. It’s fabulous.”), having her clit pierced (“It’s kind of like piercing a potato chip”) and vomiting on a fellow’s less-than-erect penis. Meanwhile, she talks jubilantly about her work as set designer and her idea of her own talent (“Sex is the easy part.. it’s the acting that’s embarrassing!”) along with her desire to create a more female-centric industry by filming an “actual orgasm” (“luckily we had lots of film in the camera”) and her displeasure with the heterosexual porn community’s lackluster response to AIDS protection organizations.

Description: IF EVER a film made you question your moral judgement, sense of humour and film-buying decisions, then Island Of Death is it. This succinctly-titled Seventies Greek blasterpiece is something of a tour de force of sado masochistic sex and violence, and after watching it you can’t help but sit there and think: “how on earth did they ever get to make a film like this?” The catch is: you’ll probably be giggling to yourself as you think this – trying to work out how you’re going to explain what you just saw to your friends and colleagues. Such is the gleeful innocence in which writer/director/producer Mastoriakis presents the unbelievable on-screen carnage.

If you’ve never seen Island Of Death you’re probably sat there thinking: “what could be so bad?” Well, as a film, Island Of Death is greater than the sum of it’s parts. There’s no point writing a big list of all the shocking scenes it contains. Better to sum up the way it makes you feel after a viewing. Which is: dazed, confused, elated, digusted and (most probably) turned-on (though you’d never admit it).

It’s a story about a young couple – Christopher (Bob Belling) and Celia (Jane Ryall), on vacation in Greece. Initially they seem like a normal, fun-loving couple, but very quickly it becomes apparent that there is a screw loose when the couple begin to trap, torture and murder innocent locals in order to “rid the island of perversion.”

Eventually Christopher and Celia are tracked by the police, but only after maiming and raping half a Greek island. It’s hilarious, wince-inducing stuff, and thankfully well-filmed. Mastorakis undoubtedly pushes it with the sex and violence, but there is an undoubted charm and naivety to this film that prevents you from turning it off. It’s, strangely, very watchable. In fact, no one could accuse Island Of Death of being unwatchable. Questionable – yes. And possibly unlistenable, to some (it’s got a very unique soundtrack). But not unwatchable.

Those bound by the laws of political correctness will hate this film and the way it victimises minorities. Those with a sense of humour, though, will realise that Island Of Death is one of the most daring films ever made. Mastorakis may not have had much of a budget, but he had massive balls.
